Chartwell Hawthorn Retirement Residence

We moved my father in law to Chartwell Hawthorne in February and his experience has been great. The staff is so helpful and during this crazy time of COVID, they have been exceptional. We have not been able to see him but we are reassured that he is in good hands. Everything is done for him...meal deliveries, laundry service and apartment cleaning. Highly recommend this place for your loved ones. Our experience was very positive.

My mother moved into Chartwell Hawthorne almost a year ago and she couldn't be happier. She was widowed after 67 years of marriage and had lived alone in her huge house for 4 1/2 years. Her health was declining, her nutrition was poor and she had little socialization. She knew she had to make a change, but it was a difficult decision and created a lot of anxiety. The management, staff and residents welcomed her with open arms - actually they welcomed our whole family with open arms! The meals are creative and nutritious, served in a beautiful dining room. The common area is welcoming and comfortable. The grounds are well kept and safe for walking. I can't say enough about the recreation and activity opportunities. There is always a morning exercise class and countless games, brain teasers, crafts and community cooking. My mom often describes her current living situation as ''living on a cruise ship''. All of the staff are to be commended on creating and maintaining a safe, comfortable, caring and creative home for anyone needing supportive living. We are deeply grateful to all of them for looking after my mom so well.

I live out of province, but used to visit my aunt here. The staff was always pleasant and helpful and the building itself is bright and welcoming. The meals I had with her were always good and again the servers were always smiling. She always told my husband and I how much she liked living there. She loved playing card games and bingo and there was always activities for her to do. It was Caleb Manor a few years ago but the staff is the same. My husband and I may be moving back to Alberta and when we are ready we will definitely consider this property.

My mom has enjoyed living at Chartwell Hawthorn for over 3 years. It’s been a wonderful experience for her and for us as a family. There are many activities for residents and family members are often included. I feel the staff has done an excellent job keeping residents safe during this pandemic. Thanks for all you do!

This is a lovely residence. The staff is great and the managers are very nice. They have been exceptional during this pandemic with taking such care of everybody there during this covid-19 and dealing with everyone with respect. Thank you so much to this wonderful place.
