Chartwell Avondale Retirement Residence

Chrissy is patient, caring and very helpful. All staff that we have experienced have been kind and following Covid protocols. Food is ok, and decor for the dining room is plain and feels a bit too institutional. Room is bright with good layout. It is a more personal and intimate environment compared to most retirement homes that are larger.

Avondale has been a haven for one of my family members for years. Their facilities, nursing staff and management have all been fantastic and very accommodating on both the good and bad days. Their Covid screening and safety precautions are above and beyond that of larger facilities and put my mind at ease. Lastly, it really does make a difference that they’re part of the community around them, have a nice rooftop patio and TTC access right out front, it’s these small things that allow a sense of normality for their residents. Highly recommend you check them out if you’re looking for a place to retire to.

Chrissy and her team have been very accommodating and understanding despite the restrictions of COVID-19. The team is very empathetic towards the needs of their residents moving in. The team at Chartwell is exceptional! The management is responsive and the staff on the ground are a caring group of professionals. During Covid they are running a tight ship, vetting visitors and following mandated standards. I highly recommend this seniors residence for your family members care.
